Where Healing Begins & Connection Grows

When communication breaks down, everything else starts to feel harder. You might feel disconnected, stuck in the same arguments, or trying to co-parent without constant tension… and unsure how to actually change it.

At Therapeutic Family Connections, we offer straightforward, supportive counseling for couples, families, co-parents, and individuals who are ready to do something different. This is not just about talking things through. It is about understanding what is really happening, learning how to communicate more effectively, and creating healthier patterns that last.

Couples Therapy

Rebuild connection. Repair what’s been strained. Learn how to move forward together.

If you feel like you are having the same arguments on repeat that are not being resolved, or barely talking at all, something needs to shift. When you are no longer feeling connected due to a lack of trust or betrayal, reconnection and understanding are needed. The Gottman Therapy techniques help you slow things down, gain an understanding of your partner, reconnect by turning toward your partner, and then manage future conflict.

What’s Included:

  • Gottman Relationship Checkup: a research-based questionnaire that determines strengths and challenges and helps identify specific areas of improvement. The assessment covers friendship, intimacy, conflict management, shared meaning, trust, and individual concerns of mental health, substance use, or finances.
  • Evidence-based interventions that can be practiced at home to improve areas that brought you into therapy.
Take the First Step Together

We’ll help you understand what’s happening and where to start.

Family Therapy

Support your family system, not just the symptoms.

When things feel off at home, it is usually not just one person. Families fall into patterns… miscommunication, tension, power struggles… and over time, it becomes the norm. Family therapy helps you step back, see what is actually happening, and start making changes that shift the entire dynamic, not just one piece of it.

What’s Included:

  • Collaboration with schools, providers, or supports when helpful (with your written consent)
  • Practical strategies that can be applied in everyday situations between sessions
  • Scheduling options available, including weekly and every-other-week sessions depending on family needs
  • An initial intake session to understand family dynamics and current challenges
  • A personalized and structured plan to meet your family’s needs
  • Family, parent, and individual sessions tailored to what is happening at home

Co-Parenting Counseling

Less conflict. More clarity. A healthier environment for your children.

Co-parenting does not have to feel like constant tension or walking on eggshells. You do not have to agree on everything, but you do need a way to communicate, set boundaries, and create consistency for your child. This work helps take the emotion out of the constant back-and-forth and replaces it with structure that actually works.

What’s Included:

  • An initial intake session to understand current challenges, family dynamics, and goals
  • A clear plan focused on reducing conflict and creating more stability for your child
  • Tools to improve communication and work through disagreements in ways that better support your child’s well-being
  • Support establishing healthy boundaries, roles, and expectations within the co-parenting relationship
  • Strategies to create consistency, structure, and a stronger sense of security for your child across households
  • Guidance on keeping your child’s emotional needs at the center of co-parenting decisions
  • Appointment times can be arranged to include both parents when possible

Individual Therapy

Do the personal work that changes everything else.

Sometimes the patterns showing up in your relationships start with you. That is not blame, it is awareness. Individual therapy gives you space to figure out what is actually going on, why you react the way you do, and how to start responding differently. When you become more aware, everything around you starts to shift.

What’s Included:

  • An initial intake session to understand your experiences, challenges, and goals
  • A personalized plan focused on patterns, triggers, and areas for growth
  • Practical tools to help manage stress, emotions, and reactions
  • Space to process life transitions, relationships, and personal challenges
  • Ongoing support with adjustments as progress is made
  • Scheduling options available, including weekly and every-other-week sessions

We’ll help you make sense of what’s going on and where to go from here.

This Is Not Surface-Level Therapy

If you are looking for someone to just listen and nod, this is probably not the right fit.

Deidra’s approach is direct, honest, and focused on helping you actually move forward. She uses evidence-based methods like the Gottman Method and family systems work, but what really sets her apart is how she shows up… willing to have the hard conversations and help you work through them, not around them.

She understands messy relationships, complex family dynamics, and what it takes to create real change.

Pricing & Payment Methods

Therapeutic Family Connections is a fee-for-service practice. This approach offers added privacy, flexibility, and autonomy in your care. Because insurance is not billed directly, no diagnosis is required, and you and your therapist have more freedom to determine the type, content, and length of treatment that best fits your needs.

Payment is due at the time of service. Therapeutic Family Connections accepts cash, check, and major credit cards, including Discover, American Express, Visa, and MasterCard. While the practice is out of network with insurance providers, a statement for services can be provided upon request if you would like to seek possible out-of-network reimbursement.

For Couples Counseling

Couples may transition to 60-minute sessions as skills are developed and the intensity of treatment decreases. Early in the process, longer sessions are often recommended because they allow more time to learn, practice, and work through new skills together during the appointment. This often supports stronger progress and better long-term results.

A blue notebook, a pink pen, a white patterned mug, and a lined sheet of paper are arranged on a wooden surface—perfect for jotting down thoughts during family therapy or couples therapy sessions.

Let’s Start the Conversation

Reaching out can feel like the hardest part. You do not need to have everything figured out before you do. Share a little about what’s going on and what you’d like to change. From there, we’ll take the next step together and find an approach that actually makes sense for you.
